Cinemas on the Athens Coast

Athens Cinema
Cinemas in Greece play movies in their original language and have Greek subtitles (besides children’s films).  So if you are just visiting or living here and don’t speak Greek, cinemas are fair game for your activities list.

As a non-Greek speaker, you can still maneuver your way around the sites for the cinemas, even though they are not offered in English.  You can identify the films by their poster and then they will have the date and time listed numerically.

The best option is to use an amazing local App that lists movies in English.

Athineon Cinepolis

This cinema is located in the heart of the busy cafe district of Zisimopoulou street.  It’s the perfect location for ‘dinner and a movie’ or grabbing a drink after the film at one of the many surrounding establishments.

Address: Zisimopoulou 7, Glifada 166 74
Phone: 21 1211 2222

Novacinema Odeon Glyfada

Odeon is a popular cinema chain located through-out Greece.  A bit more traditional, even including a break halfway through the movie.  It is located on a busy street connecting the beach road to Leof. Vouliagmenis in a mostly residential area.  However, there are a few restaurants in the nearby Plateia Xenofontos

Address: Zeppou 14, Glifada 166 75

Village Cinemas Faliro 9

Village Cinemas is the most modern of the movie theater chains in Athens.  The Faliro location is a massive complex which offers ‘Gold Class’ viewing options with luxury theaters and LazyBoy seating.  The snack options are above and beyond at this location with pizza, ice cream and other cafe items available.  You can take the tram to this location and use the station Αγία Σκέπη/Agia Skepi.

Address: Old Poseidonos Avenue 1 & Moraitini Street 3
Phone: 21 0810 8080

Village Cinemas Agios Dimitrios 5

Get off at the Agios Dimitrios metro station and you will find yourself at the Metro Mall, a very modern shopping mall/entertainment venue.  The cinemas are located next to the food court up on the 4th floor.  There are a few full service restaurants and cafes located one level up, so another good ‘dinner and movie’ location or a nice way to take a break from shopping on a Saturday afternoon.

Address: Leof. Vouliagmenis 276, Ag. Dimitrios 173 43
Phone: 210 9758300
