Join the 2016 Christmas Festivities in Vari, Voula and Vouliagmeni

The municipality of Vari, Voula, and Vouliagmeni have organised Christmas festivities this December to add a bit of festive joy to the Athens Coast.

The events will include concerts, children’s plays, choral evenings, construction workshops, interactive games, entertainment spots and much more. See the official program below.

Christmas Festivities Day by Day

December 4th Events

The festive program started on December 4 at 19:00 with a concert tribute to F.G Lorca with the collaboration of the Choir of Vari. The production was under the direction of conductor Emilios Giannakopoulos from the Vari Theatre.

December 11th Events

On December 11 at the Cultural Center “IONIA” at 12:00, take your little ones to check out the children’s play “The sheet did not want to fall”. The fairy tale story is created by Yannis Plouharis and is presented for the first time by the group “Astronauts”.

After the show, the kids will be able to “talk to” Santa Claus complete with reindeer and elves for the full Christmas fairy tale experience.

December 16th Events

On December 16 at 17:00 the central square of Voula (Imia square) will turn transform into a snowy village full of surprises for children and adults with music, acrobatics, construction workshops and confectionery, toys and street theater.

At 19:30 there will be the official lighting of the Christmas tree in Voula square followed by a concert for the whole family, entitled “Christmas Voices.” The internationally renowned soprano Sonia Theodoridou along with an orchestra and choir will sing Christmas carols.

December 17th Events

On December 17 at the Cultural Center “IONIA” at 20:00, the internationally renowned pianist Stephen Korkolis with his orchestra will take us on a musical ride through his own works and compositions as well as other crowd favorites.

December 18th Events

On December 18 at the Public Theater of Vari, at 11:00 AM, the morning starts with the play “a Journey to the Center of the Earth” for the little ones.

The group “Neapolis” presents the classic masterpiece of Jules Verne in one of the best performances of the year.

On December 18 at 20:00 in the evening at the Cultural Center Ionia a separate event will take place.

Mikis Theodorakis meets Manos Hatzidakis through music and dance.

A unique musical night from Vari Training Association and the Cultural Association of Women “Apollonia”.

December 22nd Events

The festivities will end on December 22 at 20:00 in the Cultural Center “IONIA” with the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra.

A concert of classical music with 35 instruments on stage under the direction of conductor P.Sergiou.

Mozart works will be performed, the introduction of the “Marriage of Figaro”, Concerto for Flute and Orchestra (solo Theodora Iordanidou) and 40th Agreement.
