Tell us about yourself
I’m an international mix or third culture generation as they like to call us now. Dad is Greek and Mom is British (yes, summer romances do sometimes last as testament to my parents – they met on a Greek island when they were 18!) However, they moved to Dubai once married where they raised all of us kids…5 of us!
The family moved permanently back to Athens in 2006. I’m currently doing a Masters in NYC, and deciding where in Europe I want to move back to when I’m done… the Athens Coast is high up there on my list!
What is your favorite area to spend time in during the day and why?
Glyfada is a great place to spend a relaxed afternoon. There are plenty of cafes/restaurants and shopping.
In Voula, I like to spend time at Notos Cafe and enjoy the incredible view of the ocean.
Akti Vouliagmeni is my favorite organized beach. You can’t beat playing tennis next to the sea!
For a night out, which area do you prefer?
I like going to any of the bars along the coast that has a view of the water.
Ark is a great bar/cafe/restaurant where you can sit on beanbags (as pictured above) enjoying amazing cocktails a few feet from the water! Go for sunset!
Do you have any tips for someone who is visiting the Athens Coast for the first time?
Spend a day taking a sailing class! Go on a trip to Sounion!
What should the rest of the world know about the Athens Coast?
There are so many hidden amazing restaurants and bars along the coast! Also, if you take a car and drive down the coast you will discover lots of great public beaches.
